More missed ambulance response times

Local MP, Alun Cairns has reacted with anger and disappointment that only 61% of urgent (Category A) ambulance calls from the Vale arrived at their destination within the target 8 minute time in January, according to the latest data published.

Mr Cairns has called on the Welsh Health Minister and Welsh Government to respond. Out of 587 calls made to the Ambulance service, only 353 arrived within the designated timeframe. Read more →

Concern for pupils over Cowbridge to Llantwit Bus Service

Vale MP Alun Cairns has raised concern about the bus service from Cowbridge to Llantwit Major following contact from worried constituents.

The V1 bus service which operates throughout the year between the Vale towns, is used by many Cowbridge Comprehensive pupils during term time for their commute between their homes in the Llantwit area and the school. 

Mr Cairns is concerned that the public bus service is very busy during school term time, is often full and unable to collect all passengers at the Cowbridge Town Hall bus stop. Read more →

Faster broadband on the way for Cowbridge

Alun Cairns MP has welcomed BT’s announcement that Cowbridge will be included in the 130,000 homes and businesses in Wales that will have access to faster broadband by the summer of 2012.  Cowbridge will be one of the first communities to be upgraded and should receive the better capacity broadband by April 2012.
