Big Cowbridge Community Book Swap

May 23, 2012

Alun Cairns MP joined in the Big Community Book Swap last week, at the Cowbridge Hub event held in the Old Hall, Cowbridge.

The free entry event was an opportunity for people to bring along books they’ve read and swap for some they hadn’t.  Many books were donated to the Big Cowbridge Community Book Swap from local residents.  The books on offer ranged from children’s classics to autobiographies, special interest and fiction.

The Vale MP took along a few of his own to swap and joined in with the team of volunteers as they helped fill the Hub-Cowbridge Eco-bags with books which were sold for £3.

Mr Cairns said:

“I really enjoyed looking through the books on offer at the Book Swap.  It’s a great idea and it was very popular with all the visitors.

“I know that many of the people I spoke with at the Old Hall were keen to have a similar event run on a regular basis – and not just as part of The Cowbridge Book Festival Fringe!   That really is testament to the success of the scheme – well done to all involved.”
